Fact (ファクト, Fakuto?), stylized as FACT, is a Japanese post-hardcore band formed in 1999, with its members originating from Chiba. Their music makes use of common melodic hardcore elements along with fast guitar riffs and a highly melodic-based style. Their clean and screamed vocals are both commonly used and are, in many cases, accompanied by gang vocals in choruses. The members of Fact often wear Noh masks and most of their songs are done in English despite their Japanese origin.

In December 1999, Fact formed from members of other bands from around the Tokyo area. They began to tour the local music scene in around Chiba, Mito, and Tokyo. Originally, Tomohiro played bass and sang with support from Kazuki and Takahiro but, in 2002, main vocal duties as well as a third guitar were added with Hironobu's joining. Hironobu was a member of the band Second Base along with Kazuki before either of them joined Fact.

Continuing onward as a group, the band traveled to California in the United States for a short tour in 2003 and, in 2005, they released their first full-length album Never Turn Out The Light To Keep Myself on Japan's Bullion Records
. The band later signed a record deal with Vagrant Records to release their worldwide debut album Fact sometime between 2008 and 2009. The single "A Fact of Life" was released with an accompanying video in early 2009. Fact toured the U.S. in support of the album, accompanying U.S. bands including I Wrestled a Bear Once, Greeley Estates, Memphis May Fire, Senses Fail and A Skylit Drive. The tour was cancelled abruptly after a car collision early in the tour, but another U.S. tour was rescheduled soon after.

Their third full-length album,
In the Blink of an Eye, was released on January 13, 2010, and its first single, "Slip of the Lip" was released online with an accompanying music video. In the Blink of an Eye debuted at #6 on the Japanese Oricon weekly charts, becoming their first album to reach the Top 10.

In May 2010, the band was joined by Justyn (extra bass), Injino & Mekajo (both on keyboards, with Mekajo providing the synth's), Urijo (acoustic guitar), Elano (rapper), Dinkano (scream vocals) & Donnie Jackson (custom percussion). Fact will return to the UK for their second tour of the country between 24 May and 4 June 2010, with a headlining show at London's O2 Academy Islington and then playing as the support act for Breathe Carolina during the rest of the dates.
